According to advices received at the Peabody Museum from Mr. Gordon, who is in charge of the explorations to be made at Copan, President Sierra of Honduras has conceded to Harvard University, by treaty arranged at Tegucigalpa on Feb. 22, the charge of the ruins of Copan and the lands pertaining thereto, for a period of ten years, with the right to make excavations and to remove to Cambridge for preservation a portion of the objects that may be encountered.
