Older songs, like the opening "I Got No Idols" and "Outsider," were revitalized by the new Hatfield sound. The latter, a bit sludgy and tentative on Only Everything, was transformed by an up-tempo delivery and hardcore bass (courtesy of a barefoot and ecstatic Welsh) into a tune which both excited and engaged the audience...

The same problem cropped up on Only Everything, a virtual concept album which could have easily been entitled "50 Minutes of Mid-Tempo Tube Distortion...
...wearing a scruffy work shirt and jeans splattered with paint, enters from the wings, pushing a large broom before him across the dusty floor. Evidently intrigued by the noises made by the rhythmic swish of the broom's bristles against the floor, he begins to experiment with its tempo and pressure, resulting in swishes and taps of varying pitch and loudness...
Park's extremely fast tempo in the rondo must have challenged the orchestra, but profitably. As the music zipped along, the piano runs were absolutely absolved of any scalar quality, and became bright, voluble utterances. The winds were especially agile and in accord, and the violists and violinists seemed to be listening to each other carefully. Although Ween really picks up the tempo only with some horribly repetitive electronica and an absolutely pointless tale in "I'll Be Your Jonny On The Spot," they do break up the monotony of the ocean waves at the album's beginning, adding an uncluttered dimension to the album by simply being basic...
