All in a Woman's Day by Jessica Sphon and Amateur Night by Thalia Goldman both strike unfortunate and harsh notes in a program characterized otherwise by cool sophistication and robust humor. Spohn at least handles her satire of women as sex objects with a deft control of her visual material, a collage of advertising images and photographs. The director is Jurgen Flimm from the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, Germany, and the play itself is based on an 18th century work by Jacob Lenz. At the Loeb, October 23-26 and October 19-November 1 at 8 p.m. Tickets...
