Ernst made a beautiful catch in the last innings, running from centre field nearly to short stop for the ball. Thatcher was unfortunate in having lame hands, but his pluck in remaining at his post till the end is worthy of great praise. His errors he atoned for by a long fly over left field's head in the ninth innings, when it was most welcome. The score is as follows...
