Just for the record: concerning the hecklers of the Wallace-sponsored anti-U.M.T. rally, I should like to point out that the CRIMSON'S "marketplace of political discussion" was hardly a discussion at all. In realty last Saturday at Sanders Theater a unilateral declaration was voiced over the objections of nearly half of those present. Although the tactics employed by that minority were hardly in line with our democratic ideals, it must be said that at no time, even through responsible representatives, were the very real arguments of the proponents of U.M.T. allowed. Those individuals who attended the anti-UMT rally in Sanders Theater on Saturday with the express purpose of shouting down the speakers used tactics that are almost too unoriginal to warrant censure. They have been used repeatedly by Communists to prevent the opposition from being heard; they are also darkly reminiscent of pre-1933 Germany. But unoriginal as the boo, shout, and catcall may be, whenever used to stifle free speech, they demand public denouncement...
