Colonel Broome, the advance officer of the British world fliers, arrived from the North at the Kurile Islands off Japan, after a two months' adventurous and turbulent voyage in the Canadian trawler Thiepval. Broome established bases on Behring Island, Attu and other places in the Aleutians in preparation for MacLaren's trans-Pacific flight.
