During the meeting in question, Rabbi Gold expressed disappointment at the failure of the University to accept the Stendhal plan, which would have established a three-person Board of Preachers (consisting of a Protestant minister, a Jewish rabbi, and a Catholic priest) having jurisdiction over Memorial Church and all religious affairs of the University.
