...decided improvement over its form of the last two weeks by defeating Holy Cross by a score of 9 to 4 Strong batting and sharp, snappy fielding enabled the nine to secure an unusually large lead in the first half of the game. Holy Cross played a plucky game throughout, but was unable to make a stand against Harvard's hitting. In spite of his lame side, Hayes proved very effective, and kept the hits well scattered. Toward the end, however, he let up somewhat, but not until after the game was well in hand...
