Before the election there will be presented to the class a set of rules to govern the election of officers throughout the four years. A reform seems necessary and the proposal below is the result of a wide discussion and investigation of the general opinion on the subject. In the hour and a half of play, the University team were able to score only eight times, while the scrub found little difficulty in passing their defense, and shooting six goals. ...Germanic Museum was opened to the public for the first time yesterday afternoon. The Rogers Building has been renovated throughout and affords a very satisfactory place for the exhibition. It is peculiarly adaptable to such a purpose on account of the excellent lighting facilities, permitting the large pieces of statuary to be seen to the best advantage. The floor space is amply sufficient for the collection as it stands at present, but more room will be necessary when the gifts from the German Emperor and the Swiss Federal Council have been received. ...candidates retained on the University basketball squad are expected to report for practice on Monday evening, January 5. Five teams will be kept throughout the season, and will be coached by J. W. Gilles 1L., and W. A. Monten '04, who was assistant coach last year of the University of Minnesota team. The management has secured J. M. Reilly of the Webster team as the professional coach for this year. He will begin work about the first of February.
