Several changes and improvements have been made throughout the University grounds and buildings during the summer. In Thayer, Perkins, and Conant Halls, common living and smoking rooms have been established. In Thayer, room 3 has been chosen for the living room and the partition between the study and bedroom has been removed. Electric lights and steam heat have been added and the small grate fire place has been enlarged so that wood instead of coal may be used for fuel. A week will in all probability be necessary for completion. In Conant, rooms 1 and 2 on either side...

The race was actually won between the 2-mile and 3 1-2 mile flags. In this part of the distance Filley, by cool headwork, maintained his lead and a steady stroke, while the Yale men were themselves out trying to overcome Harvard's lead...
