...Throughout the book, it is apparent that the ultimate goal of its writing is healing. In what I take to be the most moving passage, Professor Minow quotes Cynthia Ngewu, the mother of a murdered victim of the apartheid regime: "This thing called reconciliation...if I am understanding it correctly...if it means this perpetrator, this man who has killed [my son], if it means he becomes human again, this man, so that I, so that all of us, get our humanity back...then I agree, then I support it all." It is this searching for forgiveness, this fumbling...
Celebrity keeps the audience half-heartedly giggling throughout its projection. Sadly, by the time the final credits roll, it is apparent that the sloppy film never builds up to anything more than two hours of very timely silliness. The scenes have no reasons for being where they are; they could easily be reshuffled to produce a different film of similar merit. However, Allen does deserve credit for being more clever than most modern day filmmakers...
...Throughout the film, Lee runs about, repeatedly pushing one lady friend aside to make room for the next. Just as Lee never settles down with any one of his companions, Allen also flits about, refusing to stick to any element of the film long enough to develop it into an integral part of a complex structure...

At other points, however, the jokes fall away, and the audience is left with only the trials. This results in an uneasiness throughout the entire film but not in the way the director might have intended. ...shows like these, but a large dance floor, constructed wings and excellent sound and light equipment made it a seemingly good space for the performers. Lighting effects were consistently excellent. Kepler and Weiss's use of light sticks in their duet "II," was especially impressive. Costumes were appropriate throughout the show...
