Expanding on reasons for the Lindberghs' move, Reporter Lyman reviewed the tide of threatening letters from cranks and crooks which had begun in 1927, ebbed & flowed as the Lindberghs were more or less prominent on the nation's front pages. Since the kidnapping of Charles A. Lindbergh Jr., Federal, State and local police had guarded the Lindberghs unremittingly, traced some of the threats, made a few arrests. Still the famed family lived in fear. Gratified were they when threats died down as excitement over Bruno Richard Hauptmann's arrest and conviction diminished. Then came two deciding events...

...Michigan the tide did not rise very high. Verner Wright Main, a Battle Creek lawyer, won the Republican nomination last month in a five-sided primary because he had strong Townsend support. Dr. Townsend made two speeches in the district favoring Nominee Main's election. Republican Main polled 25,000 votes to his Democratic opponent's 11,000. ...Provincetown, Mass, studio to look at them. However, all Waugh seascapes are not alike. Ante Meridian shows a wave breaking against a cliff in the right foreground. Post Meridian had waves breaking on rocks in the centre foreground. Tropic Seas had the rocks in the distance. In Morning Tide, Mrs. Logan's favorite in Chicago the rocks are on the left. Mr. Waugh took his award with becoming modesty last week. Other artists who have won the same prize at the Carnegie show have not always appreciated the honor.
