...cannot remember a year when the class football series was brought to a close by playing off a tie game. It was not so many years ago that if one of the elevens found difficulty in forging ahead at the end of the allotted time, volunteers from the side lines would appear in sufficient numbers to warrant a score by one of the teams and it was usually the team that had the most friends among the spectators that secured the victory. This was perhaps a relic of the ancient by-gone days when in no less of an affair...
