Foreign observers are deeply concerned about the continuing presence of the military. As I myself have a civilian background,I can understand that. Don't forget that in Portugal we emerged from a fascist regime that lasted half a century, and we have just put an end to colonial wars that lasted 14 years. We cannot pass from that situation to a pure democratic system...
