Died. George Card ("Buddy") De Sylva, 54, ubiquitous songwriter of the 20s, Hollywood and Broadway producer; of a heart ailment; in Hollywood. As a Tin Pan Alley lyricist, he wrote such hits as Sonny Boy, Memory Lane, Somebody Loves Me. In the '30s, turned moviemaker, he produced five Shirley Temple heart-throbbers.
