Last week Mrs. Margaret Higgins Sanger Slee's tireless 31-year campaign to make birth control legitimate in the U. S. passed another successful milestone. Three years ago Mrs. Sanger's good Japanese friend, Baroness Shizue Ishimoto, sent Mrs. Sanger's good Manhattan friend, Dr. Hannah Mayer Stone, 120 rubber pessaries. Dr. Stone intended to try the devices on 120 women clients of the Manhattan Birth Control Bureau, first and busiest of 283 similar centres now disseminating information and supplies in 42 states. U. ...scraper and applied out native Klister, which is a mixture of pine pitch and oil. We then heated the skis over the fire (as wax will not stick to wet wood) and with a wax mitten rubbed them to a high glassy finish, making them waterproof. Hence the disproportionate amount of public attention which the Party commands can be reasonably interpreted only as a testimonial to the potency of its ideas or its tireless agitation. Enormously flattered were Communists last week to find politicians and patriots throughout the land uniting to catapult them into the headlines, make the espousal or denial of their ideals a major issue in the 1936 Presidential campaign...
...Edward VIII; 2) he was the son of a onetime Democratic Congressman; 3) he was a pre-Repeal Dry; 4) he weighed 200 lb.; 5) he was an Elk, Mason, Moose, Odd Fellow, Shriner, Legionary; 6) his favorite expression was "By Golly"; 7) he was a tireless and sometime tiring speaker; 8) his wife, Clara, played the harp. But all these things combined were outweighed by the fact that rich & radical Senator Couzens had appeared to love the New Deal too dearly since that raw day in 1933 when Franklin Roosevelt moved into the White House...
