Time and frustration had blurred the towering, bony frame and added flesh to the sad falcon face. But the manner was still much the same-the haughtiness, the imperious pride and, over it all, the toga of weary martyrdom. He strode in past the painted nudes and mirrored walls of Paris' Hotel Continental to a burst of applause. Hundreds of his admirers, as they always do, had clustered around the dais and monopolized most of the seats at the press conference, leaving newsmen to find seats where they could...

...Wild One has Marlon Brando ditching Mark Anthony's toga for a pair of greasy blue jeans and a leather jacket. In the process he picks up a flashy motorcycle and some cool bop talk, and accompanied by a grizzly crew sporting well oiled side-burns, Brando roars to a stop in a one-car town. ...views his rise as an academic Horatio Alger with slight misgiving. "I've had to rewrite most of the lectures," he says. "In that cold and austere Graeco--Roman setting you stand up in your toga and pontificate. You can't be intimate in the Mohavi Desert...
