During the entire first period points were nearly evenly divided, Coach Tolbert's men having a slight edge when the whistle blew for the end of the half. Tufts showed their full strength in the second period, when, with Wilson again dominating the floor, the visitors rolled up a substantial lead before Coach Tolbert's players had a chance to recover from the effect of their oppnoents' whirlwind attack. With defeat near at hand, the Crimson yearlings staged an impressive and effectual rally. Baskets by King, Merriam, and J. L. Following the stiff game with Clark University Tuesday and the practice brush with Coach Tolbert's Freshmen the following day, Coach Wachter let up on the quintet yesterday afternoon in the last practice before the West Point game and sent his men through merely a light shooting practice and a brief half-hour signal drill.
