...TOP, June 5.--The University and Freshman crew squads arrived here late yesterday afternoon, and with the exception of the second crew and the Freshman four-oar, went out at once for practice. The University crew rowed over the four-mile course at a low stroke in about 24 minutes. For the first two miles the Freshmen paced the University boat, and rowing a slightly higher stroke, finished a length ahead. Rough water and a head wind account for the slow time. ...University Cricket team defeated the Lynn Wanderers Saturday at Lynn by the score of 96 to 56. The game was played in a drizzling rain, and as a result the fielding was poor. Morris, Carter and Barnes were all called but for leg before wicket. Gummere made top score for Harvard with 36 runs, and did the best bowling, taking 8 wickets for 29 runs.
