Usage:

Take one fictional Ozzie-and-Harriet-like Irish-Catholic couple and their three teenagers. Put them through the crucible of the sexual and drug revolutions, the civil rights movement, Vietnam, women's lib, Watts and Woodstock. Then toss in newsreel footage of every conceivable major event that occurred during this tumultuous time. Now squeeze all this into a four-hour mini-series and try to tell a credible story. ...York for the holidays, our hero's father (Gary Cole) promises him a Porsche (!) if he makes it home by 6 p.m. on Christmas Day. This is a prospect Jake finds too tempting to pass up. Jake's business, however, botches one too many assignments, and some unhappy customers toss him into the desert after supergluing a Santa suit to his body (no, this doesn't make more sense when you see it). Without the money for a bus ticket, Jake has to rely on his smooth-talking savvy to mooch enough rides to get him across the country...

Perhaps it is better to describe what Elevator Music is, rather than what it isn't. Unfortunately, unlike the work of Gershwin, Koehne's piece is too fluffy to be lasting. Picture a tropical island. Now add a world-class orchestra. Ditch the tuxes and toss everyone a Hawaiian shirt or a mumu. Chant "ol‚, ol‚!" You get the idea...
