With such a purpose the Prospect Union's possibilities are limited only by its resources. That it is a rapidly growing club the figures of its last report clearly show. In April, 1908, its total membership was 231, in April, 1910, its membership had increased to 440. This enrollment includes over 100 occupations, and now comes from over twenty surrounding towns. ...endowment of the Wolcott Gibbs Memorial Laboratory, is now in the hands of the Treasurer. This fund was begun over a year ago by the gift of $50,000 from Dr. Morris Loeb '83 and James Loeb '88, on condition that an equal sum be raised to complete the total named above. ...Field yesterday afternoon, defeating Mechanics Arts High School 15 to 2. The game lasted eight innings and was loosely played by the high school team. The Freshmen started the game by scoring five runs in the first inning and clearly outplayed their opponents throughout the game. They secured a total of 12 hits, of which Clark got three out of four times up, one of them being a home run. Considering the fact that the Freshmen have had only a few days of good practice, the showing made by them yesterday was very satisfactory and promises a strong team...
...Sophomores won the annual interclass track games, held in the Stadium yesterday afternoon, with a total of 42 points. The Seniors finished second with 35 points, keeping on even terms with 1913 in the scoring until the low hurdles, In this event J. K. Lewis, Jr., '11, who should have won easily, fell in his trial heat, thus putting him out of the race. The Juniors were third in the games with 23 1-2 points, and the Freshmen fourth with 16 1-2.
