A second rush leaves him in the same place; but the third carried him over the line, giving him a touchdown near the fair line. The ball was punted out and heeled, but the try at goal failed. Peabody kicked up the field and Watkinson returned it with a "twister" which Peabody misjudged, thus allowing Gill to make the first touchdown of the second half. Goal. Carter hurt and Buchanan takes his place. Holden makes a short run and kicks to Watkinson. The ball is passed to Gill who gets way through to Holden. ...weather was all that could be desired, but the game was only fairly attended. Both teams played a strong game, but loose tackling at critical points allowed Wesleyan to score in the first half. Each team played with two substitutes. The referee, Mr. Robinson, of Yale, was entirely satisfactory. Touchdowns were made as follows: By Cowen, 2; Ames, 4; Price, 5; Moore, 2. Savage missed four goals. Fumbles by Princeton gave Wesleyan the ball at the 10-yard line, and Stellman secured a touchdown. Hamlin kicked a goal. In the scrimmage Crane got the ball and ran unchecked, till forced out at '89's ten-yard line '90 lost the ball though, and Morgan, Perry and Griffing carried it up the field again, where Griffing made the last touchdown, and Scott kicked a goal.
