Douglas Fairbanks Jr., captain of a disabled submarine, having saved the members of his crew is prepared to stay submerged and die. Rescuers pry him off the bottom of the sea and into a more embarrassing if less dangerous predicament. He is welcomed ashore...
Sirs: If I ever looked upon a tough piece of earthenware; a cracked clay tankard, the handle of which is a huge flyswatter intended, presumably, to be an ear, it is the cut of James Montgomery Flagg in the March 21 issue of TIME. Flagg's mug appears as though it had been clawed by a lion, chewed by a bear and laugh-bitten by a hyena, and, if ever kissed, which I doubt, such a favor would be attempted only by a horsefly or a tarantula. ...picture really gets into its stride. The ground below the trees becomes alive with tigers, lions, zebras, waterbucks, crocodiles and savage dwarfs. Tarzan is a match for all of them. When a member of the Parker expedition shoots him in the head, he is too tough to mind it and shows his stamina by immediately strangling not one lion but two. When the savage dwarfs capture the members of the Parker expedition and are gleefully preparing to feed them to a large gorilla, Tarzan effects a rescue.
