Every one plays one game with every other in his section. Each player must hand the results of all his games to one of the tournament committee or leave them at 25 Grays before 7 p. m., Saturday, October 31. The time-limit is 15 moves to the hour, but this may be waived by mutual consent. In all doubtful cases the rules of the Sixth American Chess Congress are to be followed; but, if any disputes arise, they are to be referred to the tournament committee. Both men played well in the first set, Holt being the steadier of the two and finally winning 9-7, after Foster had three times been within a point of the set.
