Tiny Belmond upset the tourney favorites, Ankeny, in the first round, then succumbed to Southeast Folk's sharpshooters. In the other half of the draw, Defending Champ Lake View-Auburn survived the first round but was then outgunned by Kennedy of Cedar Rapids.
