...Freshman eights rowed a two mile race, from the Longwood Bridge to the Union boat house. The race was a very pretty one to watch, as there was clear water between the two crews at no time during the race. The first boat, by a good spurt toward the finish, won by about three-quarters of a length. A regular first crew will probably be picked from these two boats either this week or the early part of next, but a second crew will be kept for a while longer...
