...Even in South India, where saris are much more popular than in the north, weavers are having trouble finding a market. Kanjeevaram saris, made in the town of Kanjeevaram, near Chennai, are made by cooperative weaver societies. In 2004, there were 22 weaver societies in Kanjeevaram, but only 13 are left today, according to Business Today. Of these 13, only five say they are doing well. Last year, the 13 weavers sold about $12 million worth of saris, down from $40 million in 2004. The best-known sari shops, like Nalli, which has gleaming showrooms in several big Indian cities...
...again, it takes director Michael Bay 144 minutes and a tremendous amount of firepower and heaving bosoms to re-vanquish the Decepticons. Even then, it still seems highly likely that the worst of them, a black hulk bearing an uncanny resemblance to Mont Saint-Michel (yes, the French island town) will live to see a third movie...

Earlier criminal cases against four members of an IRA splinter group accused of the bombing had ended with only one conviction (which was later overturned). Under the looser standards...

The pro-life movement can still be a central part of the GOP - it has support among all ages (and a slim majority of Latino voters) - but the overall GOP view on abortion must aggressively embrace the big tent...
...majority of Iranians, apart from word of mouth at rallies. I started to obtain information about events from family, friends and people on the streets and in shops and taxis. But at least once I found myself caught up in street demonstrations and clashes when trying to cross town. On June 18, when about 200,000 Iranians held a mourning march for those killed in clashes, I walked past three chador-clad girls who were holding posters in front of their faces in order to conceal their identities. One of the posters read, "My friends have been attacked and killed...
