...railroad prosperity is progress in electrification of U. S. railroads. Following one such evidence last November (TIME, Nov. 12) in announcement that Pennsylvania Railroad would spend $100,000,000 in electrification, the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad last week announced that it would electrify 173 miles of track over 78 miles of road. Electrification will not include Lackawanna's main Buffalo-Manhattan line but will be confined to short branch lines, particularly the Morris & Essex division from Hoboken to Dover...
