...unfortunate reality in Canada, as in the U.S., is that the child-protection system is in crisis. The problems are complex, the safeguards almost nonexistent, and, despite a number of dedicated individuals, children continue to die in horrifying circumstances. What will it take to stop the tragic death of youngsters who were brutally tortured and murdered by their so-called caregivers?
