Gerald Hawes, an HEW employee who was serving as a grand juror in California's Marin County, recently resigned in disgust at such jury docility. Hawes was on the panel investigating George Jackson's killing in San Quentin, and for background he had read the transcript of the Angela Davis grand jury hearing.
