...trial eights of the University crew squad were sent upstream yesterday to the Brighton bridge in short stretches and back to the boathouse at a fast pace. Owing to the numerous changes in the orders the work was ragged and the boats did not maintain an even keel. Morgan's crew, rowing a 27 stroke, spaced poorly, and the men failed to get all the power out of the stroke, the starboard side particularly being uneven. Ball's crew caught the water well together, but were inclined to rush their slides. Amberg's work at 7 was very creditable...
