...trial eights of the University crew squad were sent upstream yesterday to the Brighton bridge in short stretches and back to the boathouse at a fast pace. Owing to the numerous changes in the orders the work was ragged and the boats did not maintain an even keel. Morgan's crew, rowing a 27 stroke, spaced poorly, and the men failed to get all the power out of the stroke, the starboard side particularly being uneven.
