Under the most unfavorable weather conditions a race was held yesterday afternoon between the two trial eights of the University crew squad over the one and seven-eights mile course in the basin, starting from Longwood bridge and finishing at the Union Boat Club. The second crew, composed of last year's Freshman eight, won by six feet, in an exciting finish. Although rowing a lower stroke most of the way, the winning boat was always within striking distance, and at the very finish, spurted to gain the lead. ...drawings by M. W. Turner are now on exhibition in the print room of the Fogg Museum. They were selected by Francis Bullard '86, of Boston, from his own large collection, and loaned by him for this exhibition. The prints, 125 in number, are nearly all proofs, including some trial proofs touched by Turner. ...second trial for the Yale debating team, held last evening, the following men were retained: F. W. Catlett 3L., A. H. Elder '07, G. J. Hirsch '07, H. Hurwitz '08. In the final trial, to be held in Upper Dane next Tuesday at 7 o'clock, Catlett, Elder and Sharfman will support the affirmative and the negative will be upheld by Hirsch, Hurwitz, and Russell.
