...knows this better than the plaintiff in this case. Gail Atwater, who was returning from a soccer practice with her two young children, claimed Texas police violated her Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable search and seizure when they arrested her in 1997 after noticing that none of the trio was wearing a seat belt. Justices Souter, Scalia, Thomas, Kennedy and Rehnquist ruled against Atwater, stating that while "the arrest and booking were inconvenient to Atwater, they were not so extraordinary as to violate the Fourth Amendment." Interestingly, everyone on the Court agreed with Atwater and her lawyer that the policeman...
...when I got my first opportunity to strike a blow for the homely. A trio of beautiful women got to the rope; I looked them up and down and said, "I'm sorry, but there's a private party here tonight." When I asked for their names, they asked me my name and kissed me on both cheeks. That's when I realized they were really, really beautiful. Unfortunately, the effect is probably a little more sobering than the band intended. We Love the City contains a couple of bonus videos, and the band dons the most amazingly surreal skin-colored body molding outfit (members flailing and all) for the video of “Good Fruit” that makes Blink 182?...
While his accompanying trio differs entirely from the recording sidemen, Scofield has assembled a dazzling array of supremely talented, if currently little known musicians who more than live up to his title of “the real drea band.” While the standout by far was drummer Bill Stewart, who matched Scofield’s intensity and complexity with dizzying dexterity and frenetic zeal, tenor player Seamus Blake and acoustic bassist Jesse Murphy also acquitted themselves admirably. Blake furnished lean and frequently blistering solos, with Murphy impelling forward the night’s proceedings with tight grooves...
