The paper said that France, via Algeria and Syria, had arranged a "truce" with Lebanon's Abdallah clan, whom France has held responsible for the September wave of bombings. Georges Ibrahim Abdallah, presumed leader of a group called the Lebanese Armed Revolutionary Faction, is serving a four-year term in a French prison for possession of arms, explosives and false documents.
