Connelly, appointments secretary to President Truman, and Theron Lamar ("Sweet Thing") Caudle, Assistant Attorney General in charge of the Justice Department's tax division. They were fined $2,500 and sentenced to two years in prison each for conspiring to fix a tax case during their days in power.
