...Pelosi made clear to me that she considered Hayden, now Deputy Director of National Intelligence, an honorable man who would not overstep his bounds. "I trust him," she said. The Sun said that Kennedy was not only an alcoholic but "a fool," and even the Independent, the paper politically closest to the Lib Dems, accused Kennedy of having "a trust problem" for having publicly lied for years about his drinking. Lohan, by contrast, is getting sympathetic press coverage for her forthright confessions - not to mention great publicity for her singing career. A double standard? Let's hope so. There are perfectly good reasons to want a party leader...
