Some years ago as superintendent of the city schools of Tulsa, Oklahoma, the Y. M. C. A. director took over the entire problem of welfare and truancy in the schools. A careful detailed and recorded study was made of delinquent pupils. We found that something more than 97% of school delinquencies had a corresponding specific home trouble of some kind. The percentage is not always as high as this of course.
