DIED. GIOVANNI AGNELLI, 81, debonair patriarch of Italian automaker Fiat; in Turin, Italy. Founded by his grandfather in 1899, Fiat was run by Agnelli as president for 30 years until 1996, and he retained control until he was diagnosed with prostate cancer last year.
