...Freshman and Middlesex School four-oared crews rowed two races over a three-quarter mile course on the Charles River above the Stillman Infirmary yesterday afternoon. In the first race the Middlesex crew won from the Freshmen by one and a half lengths. The Middle sex crew got a lead at the start and held this advantage throughout; they rowed in almost perfect form and used fully as much power as the Freshmen though a considerably lighter crew. In the second race the Freshman second won by a length from the Middlesex second four, who were one half length ahead...

...measure obscured the reputation of the institution of which they form a part. Higher education is of necessity unselfish, and it is well that it is so. Education is twice blessed. It is fitting that Technology's new president should apply here the education which he has taught in two countries and acquired in a third. It is my privilege to give to you the greetings of the University across the river. We extend to you the right hand of fellowship and wish you every success. May I add a personal word of congratulation upon your acceptance of the great...

...first game of their annual baseball series played last Saturday at New Haven. Yale won the game in the first inning, when four runs resulted from Drewes's weak pitching and Yale's timely hitting. Drewes was then replaced by White, who allowed two runs during the remainder of the game. In the sixth inning the Yale team made its fifth run, and in the following inning the total of six runs was completed by excellent base running. Only once in the course of the game did Princeton have a chance to score. This was in the fourth inning, when...

Last Wednesday the two University four-oar crews rowed a race over the mile and seven-eights course in the basin. Crew A, which was captained by Severance at No. 3, won by about eight lengths in fast time. It seems to be a well-developed and smooth four-oar for so early in the season. After the race Crew B was re-organized, P. Withington, Hooper, and Tabor replacing Richards, Smith, and Ellis at No. 3, No. 2 and bow respectively. The two crews will probably race again either today or tomorrow. This year it has been planned...

Early last week the second Freshman crew and the remainder of the squad were divided up into three four-oars, several different combinations being tried. The two fours stroked by Howell and Trumbull seem to be the fastest, and at 2.30 o'clock this afternoon they will race the first and second fours respectively of Middlesex School, Concord, over the half-mile course in the long stretch above the boathouse...
