Died. Edward Uhler Condon, 72, the distinguished nuclear physicist who became a target of postwar Red-baiters; of heart disease; in Boulder, Colo. Condon's experiments in 1943 on the separation of U-235 were instrumental in the development of the atomic bomb. In 1945 he was named head of the National Bureau of Standards.
