...weak-side on the go-ahead score. The tie, on the heels of a disappointing 4-3 loss to upstart Clarkson the day before, redeemed what could have been a disastrous second conference weekend. In snapping top-ranked St. Lawrence’s winning streak, and extending its unbeaten streak against the school to 13, Harvard maintained its foothold on the national scene. “Coming off of [the loss to Clarkson], we were driving for 60 minutes,” Solley said. Solley and the Crimson needed every last one of those minutes yesterday.—Staff...
...bigger challenge this weekend for the Crimson may be its Saturday matchup at home against the Tigers. Princeton is just outside the national top 10, and last year they were the only team not to lose to Harvard during the latter’s 21 game unbeaten streak leading up to the NCAA finals. Roxanne Gaudiel—a key component of the Tigers last year—returns in-net for Princeton and could make a game-changing impact. Her goals-against average last season was 1.88—the second highest in program history. Puck drops...
...Florida State vs. Notre Dame. Two unbeaten powerhouses, No. 1 and No. 2, meeting in mid-November with the innocent hype only the college game can provide. Why, it was the Game of the Century -- for one week, until Notre Dame lost to Boston College on that game's last play. F.S.U. was restored to the top of the polls, to face undefeated, uninspiring Nebraska in the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day. But once again...

What a difference two weeks makes. After losing its first contest of the season, a 1-0 grudge match with Vermont, the Harvard men’s soccer team went on a tear. Going unbeaten in its next five games, it had its sights firmly set on a conference title. What have followed are four straight losses, two of which have come to Ivy opponents. Now the Crimson (4-5-1, 0-2 Ivy) is set to face Brown (7-3-1, 2-0) tomorrow, and if the game is anything like last year’s matchup, Harvard...
