Thus, Broken Moon proves that a WBOS favorite need not be boring or by groups of the '70s. With WBOS's practice of playing music "completely uncut, as the artist intended," Lowen and Navarro, as well as groups ranging from The Rolling Stones to the Police can be enjoyed in full, and while suffering through Van Morrison's "Moondance" from the millionth time may be a pain, it's well worth it. You're an adult now--you can listen to adult music, and Lowen and Navarro is not a bad start...

This laser disc (Voyager/The Criterion Collection) marks the first uncut presentation of the original wide-screen format for U.S. home video. Also on the disc: interviews with Roeg, Bowie and co-star Buck Henry. They offer no solutions to the film's mysteries, which is just as well. Figuring out The Man would be like unraveling a dream...

Thousands of demobilized soldiers with no job prospects began scratching around for easy money. Legislation enacted in November permitting Angolans to trade in uncut diamonds was intended to soak up rough stones that people had illegally hoarded down through the years. Instead, because the move made it vastly easier to unload illegally dug diamonds, it further spurred the stampede to Lunda Norte. Cafunfo, a town of 5,000 on the Cuango River, mushroomed...
