Lampy's latest venture, the current Dramatic Number, is a distinct improvement over certain earlier numbers which unkind critics in these columns have seen fit to treat with contumely and disrespect. Nevertheless it reminds one, vaguely enough perhaps, of the little girl in the nursery rhyme, who when she was good was very, very good, and when she was had was--punk. ...Ireland, does Miss Taff know that American sailors were not allowed shore leave in Irish ports because attempts would be made against their LIVES by the "friendly" Irish? In my own small experience which, however, has brought me much in contact with the English, I have never heard an unkind word said or seen an uncourteous action towards me or any American.
