Another possibility, Catlin explains, is that, unknown to the person worrying, the exam may not even be the crux of the problem. "Sometimes, something is presented as an exam problem, and [the exam] turns out to be the tip of the iceberg. It could be career anxieties, emotional problems, problems with their family or roommates.
