...made a very amusing three hours for a small audience, perhaps unintentionally. The sets, acting, and make-up were all so bad that the play turned into a side-splitting farce. Obviously the actors were unfamiliar with their parts and the stage furniture. They were even more unknown to themselves, especially in the love scenes. At every possible moment something went wrong. Shoulder-straps slipped, chairs threatened to break, and men stood on women's trains. There was some story to the play and a few romantic episodes, but the high-jinks on the stage destroyed any feeling except pain...

...past month or so, a young newspaperman by the name of Art Walsh has been running Sunday afternoon sessions at the Crown Hotel in Providence. Most of the musicians who play there are local boys, who, although they're unknown outside of Providence, are going places in a hurry. Jazz artists just can't be as good as some of these boys and stay unknown long. Other musicians are beginning to hear about them already. For example, Will Bradley dropped in last Sunday and was tremendously impressed with the music. Then, of course, there are always one or two guests...
