This, of course, came back to haunt each one of us in our turn. Day five of recording was the day of bass. I used two different electric basses and an upright for takes. Each tune was then reviewed and scanned with the proverbial comb so that we could "punch in" any problem notes. Punching in works like a patch-I play along to the existing bass track, while Matthew records a bit of the new part onto the problem spot.
