...Italy's Chamber of Deputies, cries of crook, assassin and Fascist come so often from the Communist benches that they no longer get a rise. Last week the tables were reversed, and the result was an uproar. A right-wing Christian Democrat named Giuseppe Togni, who has always supported the government, took the floor and said: "This government has not conducted a sufficiently energetic anti-Communist policy. Italy is not trusted abroad. It is considered defiled by Communism...
...Czechoslovakia, Donnelly told the delegates. What he had seen convinced him, "sadly but definitely," that German rearmament was necessary. Said Donnelly: "If every plan for controlled German rearmament is rejected, we shall find ourselves with no controls-but with the arms." Bevanites began to boo. Then EDC supporters struck up the Marseillaise. "Why not Deutschland über Alles?" shouted a heckler...

Some Senators complained publicly that the Administration had done little to check fraud in the program. Last week Justice set the record straight. In the past 20 months it has obtained 74 criminal indictments against 136 promoters suspected of building and repair frauds -and won 67 convictions...
