For last week near Perm in the Ural Mountains (the mountain chain which divides European from Asiatic Russia) Professor Preobrajenski discovered oil. Back from Peking came two superplanes to their home in Berlin. Their pilots told the Deutsche Lufthansa (Air League) that not even the Ural Mountains had been an obstacle to an eight weeks' roundtrip; that a passenger route to Peking was perfectly practicable, to be flown in stages with a total of six or seven days in the air.
