...Jack Flash" (or "Neighbors" on the new album), rattling the ceiling and shaking the floor. Mick Jagger lets the mood and the rhythms and the words overrun his body as he raves on. But Jagger also has scorn for the power he wields. He slurs his meanest lines with utter disregard, perhaps to illustrate how idiotic it is to hang on every syllable he and Richards decide to cram into a verse. By the same token, take a look at any picture of minimalist drummer Charlie Watts in action, and you will probably find that famous wry smile and sweatless...

...affected by the slashes in social services have been so muted. "In the late 1960s, talk about reducing social services brought out marchers," says Gabriel Russo, commissioner of human services for New York's Monroe County. "I don't see anybody stirred up now." The utter confusion over the cuts, no doubt, is working to the Administration's advantage. She is doing all this while still dealing with the utter cynicism of Moscow which talks about Leninism and wants, so badly, the same nice life as anyone else. Vera Alentova plays Katerina with a feel for all this schizophrenia. A strange beauty (but only if you look closely)--she ages with extraordinary carefulness. Gordon's writing talents end with the jokes--he lacks the necessary subtlety to convey real emotion. Minnelli. Moor and John Gielgud (brilliant as Arthur's paternal butler) utter lines to each other now and then that are supposed to mean things but actually don't, and the audience squirms in its collective seats and waits for Moore to go back on the sauce. When Gielgud has difficulties near the end, you want to feel...
