Under the direction of Coaches Vail and Stephenson, six graded crews, three from each boathouse, have been on the river daily since the inter-dormitory bumping races. In spite of unseasonable rowing weather, the men have worked hard and the attendance has been very regular. Both the first crews are very strong eights and have developed rapidly during the last ten days. The coaches have watched the individual men, and after the race today eight men, picked from all the crews, will be asked to join the University crew squad in the spring...

Long hard rows with frequent spurts have been given to the graded crews during the past week, in preparation for the race next Friday. The men are still hanging badly at the catch, but Coaches Vail and Stephenson expect another week will do away with the ragged work of the more inexperienced men. As the result of a race in the basin yesterday between the first and second Weld crews, which was won by the second crew, there will be several changes in the orders of these boats today...

...graded crews were on the river yesterday, practicing for the graded crew race to be held a week from tomorrow, weather permitting, over the one and seven-eighths mile course in the basin. The work at both boat clubs has been handicapped by the irregularity of attendance, but Coaches Vail and Stephenson have corrected most of the individual faults and from now on attention will be centred in developing a clean, effective stroke. Both the first crews are rowing in good form, and will doubtless furnish a close race next week...

...bumping races for the dormitory crews will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week. The races will be rowed upstream, starting at the Boylston street bridge. This year the crews will be divided on merit, into two divisions, by a committee composed of Captain Bacon, Coaches Vail and Stephenson, R. H. Wiswall '07 and G. W. Bailey '07, who have charge of the dormitory crews at the two boat clubs. Each division will have a separate race, the first division starting at 3.30, and the second division as soon after as possible. The positions of the crews...

...trial eights were on the river yesterday, and were coached from the "John Harvard" by Captain Bacon, and by Coach Wray, who has just returned from England. Both crews rowed up-stream to the Brighton bridge. Nearly all of the dormitory crews were also on the water. Coach Vail followed the Dunster and Hampden-Beck-Fairfax crews in the "Veritas." Both showed improved strength, but their form is still ragged. The Westmorly crew is at present making the best showing...
